Thomas Sprouse on Spray-foam Insulation

We all know that foam insulation exists, but how much do we really know about it? In this fast-moving presentation Thomas will bring us up to speed.

Creative Conservation Co., Inc. was founded in 1981 as a company dedicated to helping families and businesses deal with skyrocketing energy costs as the economy struggled.  It was felt that there was a need for “creative” ways to “conserve” energy. Thus, the company name was set. Creative Conservation Company’s continuing success today, is a result of their commitment and strategic management over the years.

Thomas joined the company, founded by his parents, in 1999 and put his communications and construction experience to practice and took over operations shortly thereafter. In 2021 the company was sold to TopBuild Corporation where Thomas now works as the Division Operations Manager.

Michael Bryan

Attendees just don't seem to be able to get enough of Mike Bryan's discussions about concrete and masonry. This year he plans to cover a lot of ground in a short time. He will be speaking about inspections of concrete and masonry flatwork as well as retaining walls and foundations.

Mike’s education included courses in Architecture and Engineering. He worked as a Steel Detailer (draftsman) for Superior Iron Works, originally out of Washington, DC, creating shop and erection drawings. In 1972 he was offered the opportunity to learn the masonry trade without having to work as a laborer first. He loved and mastered the trade over a fourteen-year period progressively becoming first a Journeyman, then foremen, estimator, project manager and eventually a general manager and sales representative. Toward the very end of Mike’s masonry career, he became interested in Historic Masonry Restoration, which was then a developing science. He wrote many articles on the subject and restored or repaired the masonry on several eighteenth and nineteenth century residences. Mike also was involved in the installation of concrete footings, flatwork and reinforced concrete in several residential and commercial building foundations.

During the later years of his masonry career, he also served as a conceptual designer and sales representative for the additions and renovations department of Bernard M. Carlton, custom Design/Build residential and commercial general contractor in Leesburg, VA. Much of their work was in ‘horse country’ out in Middleburg, Upperville and The Plaines, Virginia.

In 1989, he accepted an offer, through a head hunting organization, to establish a satellite office of a Roanoke, Virginia based Disaster Restoration general contracting company.

Finally, in 1993, Mike attended, and graduated from, The Professional Home Inspection Institute owned and operated by Mike Lennon – the originator of HomePro. Mike has now been inspecting homes and commercial buildings for thirty-one years and has personally performed around 18,000 building inspections.
